 Chances are, you are reading this because you’re someone looking to start self-defence training, someone already busy with self-defence training, a self-defence instructor, in the military or law-enforcement, a private security professional, or just curious about the way I do things. 
If you are, we're both in the right place, right now. Over the past 20 years of my career, I've learned, operated, protected, and taught.

I have also actively searched for ways to improve self-defence, improve on weaknesses, and challenge existing ways of doing things. I have invested my own money, time, thoughts, and body into the pursuit of finding the limits of self-defence... full time.

A bit about me:

I'm Etienne and I'm glad we met.

I’ve done quite a bit in my career, with significant highs and lows that taught me a lot along the way. 
Without getting too winded, here's the gist of my story:

I'm a 44 year old South-African who had plans of joining the British Army in my early 20’s. Before joining the Army, I met an Israeli Combat Veteran who operated his own company. I started to train with him to get me ready to go to the Army. About a month or so before I had to make my way over to the UK, he convinced me to not go and trust him with my training and path forward. The rest is history.

In the process, I also launched TRUEKRAV, a highly successful brand of self-defence training, situated in Cape Town. TRUEKRAV is regarded as one of the best self-defence schools in the world, providing over 500 classes per year, for the last 13 years, at the HQ in Cape Town.

Since 2007 I have provided numerous international seminars and courses to civilians, military personnel, and security professionals across the globe. And have references, testimonials and letters of recommendation to prove it.

TRUEKRAV is situated in a country with 85+ murders every day, thus it can’t afford to teach watered-down solutions.
I have also launched INGUZ, a protection company that focusses on providing solutions to ultra high-net-worth individuals.

INGUZ operates globally on a word-of-mouth basis only, and clients can only get in touch through direct referrals.

Through the years I have trained individuals in the entire spectrum. Ranging from the single mom who wants to protect her children, to the Anti-terror unit member who wants to perform his duties better.

Oh shit, I almost forgot... I also happen to have started the TRUEKRAV Combat Club, offering tactical hard-skills to firearm owners. More about that later.



I created this online platform to share the things I’ve learned in one sweet place. And I will give you my best in an effort to prove why I’m qualified to teach you.
